Appliance Repair in LA? December 01, 2017, 12:04:49 pm We did our thanksgiving trip without the oven since I wasn't sure how to disassemble the gas lines but now i need to get it to someone to troubleshoot and fix. Any suggestions beyond Camping World, especially one willing to explain afterwards how I can get the lines apart in the future so I can do myself. Thanks
Re: Appliance Repair in LA? Reply #1 – December 01, 2017, 01:01:42 pm Hi 3Bostons. I looked up your previous post about a lazy pilot flame. I'm not sure that there is an orifice at the pilot light. If you pull the cook top off, you can see the aluminum tube going from the oven valve to the pilot. (I have a '99 Wedgewood, Atwood cook top/oven similar in vintage to yours). I couldn't get the knob off, it should just pull off, but there is a tiny brass screw on the left, with an access hole behind the knob. That should adjust how much gas is going to the pilot, when the oven knob is in the 'pilot on' position. It may be as simple as just adjusting that screw to get a proper looking pilot flame. It is there to light the main burner, and keep the thermocouple hot, that allows the main valve to open when more heat is called for. HTH RonB
