Re: Snowing in the Sierra Reply #2 – September 23, 2017, 05:31:51 pm When I left the Tetons a few days ago, there was fresh snow on the peaks. I got to Moab, UT and day temperatures in the 80's two days later. Today, four days after getting here, there was snow on some of the higher peaks here. I think summer is almost over... Time to beat feet to New Mexico.Ken F in UT
Re: Snowing in the Sierra Reply #3 – September 23, 2017, 07:35:05 pm Crazy year for weather for sure. I received an automated call the other day in regards to Big Bear Lake here in So Cal. It said that 18 from Snow Summit to Big Bear Lake will be closed due to road work apparently (I thought the message mentioned snow) until the end of October. Heading up there the 23rd but always take the back side up to avoid the traffic and unnecessary hill climb. I thought the phone call was a bit unusual, but a welcome warning.Kent
Re: Snowing in the Sierra Reply #4 – September 24, 2017, 12:03:50 am I can't imagine why Hwy 18 would be closed for about a half a mile. You got some bogus info.
