Tire Cover Recommendations September 15, 2017, 11:07:45 am I want to buy some tire covers for the tires on my 2017 Lazy Daze. I had admired the Classic Accessories' ones on a friend's SOB. The dimensions on my tires, according to Michelen's customer service, are 29.30 inches and 9.30 inches in width. Classic Accessories didn't have a cover that would fit. I'm looking for a cover that is very easy to use. Any recommendations for brands and sizes of tire covers would be most appreciated. Monica
Re: Tire Cover Recommendations Reply #1 – September 15, 2017, 11:47:28 am Hi Monica,I purchased "Classic Accessories 80-222-162302-00 4-Pack RV Deluxe Wheel Covers For 29" - 31.75" Tire Diameter, White" from Amazon. These are the "RV Deluxe Wheel Covers-Model 3" on the Classic Accessories site ( RV Deluxe Wheel Covers-Model 3 ). These fit my LD fine but IMHO none are "very easy to use" on the rears due to the LD skirts. And my Lazy Daze has the same size tires as yours.Charles
Re: Tire Cover Recommendations Reply #2 – September 15, 2017, 12:42:02 pm Monica, I have a set of ancient ADCO tire covers; aside from being really grubby from many years of use, they look the same as these:Amazon.com: ADCO 3952 White Ultra Tyre Gard Wheel Cover: AutomotiveI bought one size larger than the wheel measurement and ditched the little 'bungee balls'; I just slip the covers over the tires. As Charles indicates, the wheel skirts have to be 'lifted' to place the covers over the rears. The vinyl tire covers have not cracked or torn, and they've never blown off even in high winds in the desert and other locations. You might check other vendors for the covers; ADCO products are widely available, and prices do vary. As an Amazon Associate Lazy Daze Owners' Group earns from qualifying purchases.

Re: Tire Cover Recommendations Reply #4 – September 15, 2017, 01:24:14 pm One of our tire covers escaped during a brief squall near Borrego Springs last year. A perfunctory search failed to locate it, so we were mourning its passing ... until we spotted a fellow boondocker looking at every RV in our little patch. He saw that one of ours was missing, and brought it to us. It had blown at least 1/4 mile before it was apprehended by a creosote bush. So the little bungies aren't completely without value, at least when deployed. Ours weren't ... 2 Likes
Re: Tire Cover Recommendations Reply #5 – September 15, 2017, 08:32:26 pm I purchased the Covercraft "Snap Ring TireSavers" for the current coach, and have been pleased with their ease of installation and removal. Here's the link to their site. In the Q&A they say to call them at 800-426-8377 ext 9700 to select the correct size. A number of online retailers sell them.
Re: Tire Cover Recommendations Reply #6 – September 16, 2017, 09:02:49 am First set of tires remained uncovered and lasted five years. Last set of tires were religiously covered and the tires cared for much more with 303 baths et al. Those tires lasted eight years and looked way better than the five year tires at replacement. I replaced them due to Larry's (?) blow out story.I'm a believer.
Re: Tire Cover Recommendations Reply #7 – September 16, 2017, 10:52:38 am Some owners don't cover their tires at all, even when the rig sits for days or weeks or more, some cover their tires any time the wheels are not rolling, some cover the tires if the tires will be exposed to direct sun, and some cover the tires occasionally if they feel like putting the covers on. I've seen all sorts of 'covers', from old towels to plywood to a 'shade cloth' drape to camp chairs propped up against the RV; to me, a set of well-fitting covers is a more workable solution than any of the above kludges, but YMMV.This site offers a broad selection to types and brands:RV Tire Covers | Spare Tire Covers, Multi Axle Guards, Sets — CARiD.com 1 Likes
