"...above my pay grade..." describes much of what I read on this site, but I always feel smarter just for having been exposed.  Thx for sharing.

For someone with the right electronics background, it is an interesting way of going lithium.
Switching the battery and solar panel to 24 or 48 volts will simplify wiring and reduce the cost.
Getting the right Battery Management System (BMS) is the key to making it dependable, this article did not go into what he was going to use to charge and maintain the battery. Hope the author updates the article.

The BMS is the most important part of the system, lithiums are very sensitive to under or over charging.
For the best dependability, you want a BMS that monitors and control the voltage for each cell.
Victron is the only company I know of that sells an off-the-shelf system like this, and is what AM Solar now uses for it's lithium kits and installations.
They sure are expensive.
