Framing Pix or Drawings for Newer 27' RB?
Do any of you resourceful folks have photos or schematics of the wall framing for a newer model 27' RB, similar to that seen in the attached photo?  (Apologies for not knowing who took this pict.)  Or, does anyone have a link on which I can click to get the info?

Thank you.

The best solution is to go through the photo files and to look for framing photos.
There are no drawing or plans available, LD build the framing off full-size templates.

Thanks, Larry.  I'll look again, but the archive is where I found the photo that I attached.  Can't hurt to look again, though.  I enjoy looking at all the pix.  Thanks for the response.

Ray, I have been through all the archive photos fairly recently, looking for banner photos, and I don't recall an RB specifically. There are photos of other models in framing mode, but not many.

Back in the old Yahoo days there was, as I recall, a group called "something, something 30' Island Bed" and if memory serves there were some framing photos there as well as interior and exterior shots.  :)

Thanks, Jerry.  I actually already searched via Google.  Saw a few pix.  What I am specifically searching for are recent pix of a RB.  I'm trying to locate where I can land some awning mounts into solid backing, not just skin.  I'll keep looking, though.

Maybe a call to MS would get you the info you seek Ray S.

Ray,

I've dug through the framing pics I have and so far I have found one that may help you see the frame work.

I think it's a mid bath. I'll get back to the hunt a little later because I have quite a pile of framing shots somewhere.

Hope this helps.

Take a good look at the interior paneling and find the rows of small nailheads.
They mark where the framing run on the walls and ceiling.
They were installed to hold the panels in place while the adhesive cured.
With carefull measuring, much of the main framing can be located.

Also, there are the three steel roll bars, which might be good mounts.
Bars are one each in the front, rear and the middle of the coach.

I take it that you are already in possession of a LD?

When I ordered mine in '04 Steve Newton said that he would "block" (reinforce) the mounting points for the awning I intended to install after market. He did and I've been happy ever since.  :D

No, ours is due in October or November.  I requested the additional blocking, but have not received a definitive response.  I will follow up with them later next week if I can't locate something on-line.  Thank you for your input.  Did you mount A&E?

Blocking for window awnings is one of the handful of important reasons I would order a new LD.

"Did you mount A&E?"

Oh, indeed I did! I put a 20' A&E awning on my 30'IB and it offers lots of shade if the sun is at the right angle and protects my fridge as well.

And therein lies a story... I was at Custer Battlefield in Montana, camped on Reno Creek. Had the awning partially deployed to protect the fridge from a lowering sun. Was sitting at the dinette when I noticed a squall line approaching from the west. I could not exit the coach door due to the position of the awning so I went for the drivers door. By the time I got around to the passenger side it was too late so I assisted other campers with their awnings.

The wind had picked up my awning and threw it onto the roof so quick I couldn't blink. The neighbors helped me get it down. Insurance paid for a new one which I'm using to this day.   :(
