No running lights or dash lights May 11, 2017, 08:12:46 pm I'm trying to troubleshoot what's causing my running lights and dash lights not to be functioning.I just had the system checked a month ago for a state required safety inspection. All was fine at that time.Today we were hooking up trailer lights and checking to see if all lights were properly operating this is when we discovered no running lights of dash lights. We went through the fuses all appear to be okay. Any thoughts on what to check next of what the problem could be?Thanks,Mark
Re: No running lights or dash lights Reply #1 – May 11, 2017, 09:04:24 pm No running lights on both the LD and the trailer or just the LD?There is a second fuse box, under the hood, with fuses for the towing lights.A bad headlight switch could cause both problems.Did you remove the instrument panel fuses or did you inspect them in place? Are all the dash lights out or only part of the dash? The instrument lights are on two circuits, if all the lights are out, suspect a bad headlight switch or a bad ground.Larry
Re: No running lights or dash lights Reply #2 – May 11, 2017, 10:59:55 pm Hmmm! Yours is likely significantly newerCheck all the fuses and try without the toad. On my 1991 E 250 I shorted the dash lights to ground and burned out the dash dimmer rheostat. I have to drive with the dome light switched on and the bulb removed until I replace the headlight switch.

Re: No running lights or dash lights Reply #5 – May 13, 2017, 12:59:54 am Mark. Through goooogle I found the under hood Battery junction box for 2003 E450. Fuses 5 6 and10. There are also two relays k1199 and the one next to it in the same corner. The central junction box (dash fuses???) has fuses for the instrument panel lights. This is nothing like my '88 or '91 Econoline chassis'.

But the site below may have a owner's manual for your LD, that would show the fuses, along with their locations and functions.Find Your Owner Guide | Vehicle Basics | Official Ford Owner SiteLarry
