Jota,

I've been a John Prine fan for a long time too.  'Hello In There' is one of of my favorites.

I thought I'd add a tune from his dear friend and mentor.  Another great singersongwriter from Chicago, unfortunately long gone.

This seems the appropriate sub forum.  John Prime passed away on Seven April from the virus. His songs always hit a point with me. ( I deleted the words “struck a note” though they are more appropriate). We have already lost a lot of stars from sports and the big lights. But this one hit me a little harder.  But thanks to him I got my Hoochie Coochie girl and we built our selves a Home though it was in the country. Thanks John and goodbye and rest in peace

I agree.   IMHO artists are the folk that make this life of ours a bit easier to live.   I miss them all.

For all of the boondockers and back road travelers out there right now.  A good, gentle tune!  Gove Scrivernor is the "you can only take the music from one musician to the desert island with you" choice for me.  Great voice, an excellent musician and interpreter.

Sadly, just heard of the passing of Charlie Daniels, a longtime favorite artist of mine. I started listening to him in the mid-Seventies. Not exactly politically correct these days but one of my favorites back in the day, and a great road tune!

Hadn't heard this song in many years but heard it on the radio yesterday so now it's stuck in my head.  I always liked it.  :)
Is it just me or was the 60's and 70's the best decades for music?

"Is it just me or was the 60's and 70's the best decades for music? "

My partner was a teen in the 50's. She is certain it was the best decade for music because of the folk revival and birth of rock and roll, which is reasonable, but... I have suggested many times that each generation feels that way about the music they grew up with, but she is unshaken in her certainty.  As for me, I'm with you!
