Camp Fire Baked Potato
One of the Faithful had suggested a way to cook a potato in the fire.  Sliced with onions and butter between slices.  Feedback ...  Best fire baked potato we ever ate.  So delicious.  If I wasn't on my phone, I'd find his post and publicly thank him.  DW loved the onions on our flame cooked hamburgers.  Terrific.

Glad you enjoyed it! I forgot to mention that a sweet onion like a Vidalia is my choice. A red onion makes a better presentation too.

"...a Vidalia is my choice."

Umm, well the Vidalia is okay, but only if there are no Walla Walla's' to be had!   ;)  ;)

Yes, but I was trying to not show partiality to the home state ;)

Of course if the potatoes are small, I would go with a cippolini.

BTW other good onion type things cooked with butter in foil in the fire:
Leeks
Fennel

Sorry mon ami, wine is zee only appropriate beverage for such fare. For me, a basic Bordeaux.

A short Coffee may be indulged after lunch.
