After doing a search I see that the paneling is a vinyl material, but no mention is made of maintenance. Is it best to use a vinyl conditioner of some sort on it, or not?

The paneling (and non-wood parts of cabinet doors) doesn't require any "maintenance" beyond an occasional wipe down; I use a rag and warm water and white vinegar. NBD.

I have used Howard Feed-N-Wax wood polish & conditioner (beeswax and orange oil) throughout my LD on several occasions. I wiped the luan panels with a damp cloth and then applied the wax. After drying, I wiped/buffed it again. It really freshens up the look of the luan panels and does them no harm.
