Where is everyone?

Hi All, We've been traveling west of the Mississippi since late March and I've only seen one other Lazy Daze, a blue, old style paint scheme at Dead Horse Ranch state park in Cottonwood, AZ. We spent a couple of weeks in Tucson in early April...no LD's, and we've been in Utah for the past couple of weeks, no LD's. Are we too early? The weather has been chancy. We're at Moab now, destined for Arches.

Just curious, Bonnie Red old style scheme MB

We just left Moab to go east 2 weeks ago. Other than seeing Lorna and 2 other LD owners at Sierra the Skp park up by Yosemite, we haven't seen a LD since we left the SE GTG in Jekyl Island GA last year. We traveled highways and byways. Always alone (;~) ! Art and Sandy KalleAnka 96 TK Vermont Art said he saw a 1982 LD at Lake Corpus Christie SP Tx as well as a 2005 about the same time.  Both were overnighters, didn't get names or numbers

If you want to see a bunch of LDs in one place, come to this mont's LD Caravan Club's outing at Live Oak Camp at Lake Cachuma, near Santa Barbara.

We saw at least two LD's parked at the Casa del Sol Casino in Tucson and another two at Pilot Knob LTVA west of Yuma this past winter. We've seen others, too, either passing us going the opposite direction, or parked here and there.

We recently completed a six-month trip from New England down to the Gulf Coast from Pensacola almost to Texas and back....and never saw a single LD. That's the first time in 13 years.

We've been on the road since 10/12/15 and have seen 5 LDs...2 were briefly in the same RV parks as us, 2 were in transit, and 1 was parked in an AZ RV park that we were looking through. The Captain also met an LD owner in Las Cruces NM who lived in the area of where we were staying.

Maybe we'll spot a few more on the way from FL to ME, but not likely!

Just curious but maybe less than 3000 on the road total. How far off am I? At the build rate the numbers can't be very high.

We are in Port Aransas, Tx. We don't see many LD's in our part of the world. We have seen the same LD up near Kerrville and keep thinking they live on the area.

We didn't see the one when we stopped in Kerrville Wed, headed East on I-10. No others either.
Stopover in Scott, LA. Will look for some at Grand Isle tomorrow. If you see a strip of radial ply just East of MP 7, that's ours. Don't seem to be a lot of tire dealers in Lafayette open on Sundays. Any suggested brands aside from Michelin? There seem to be some cheap chinese carp which look suspicious.

Living in SoCal, we see them often but the numbers have dropped off over the last few years.
In the pre- internet days, most LDs were located in Southern California and Arizona. Now, a good percentage are sold out of state. And LD only produces half of what they once did.
In a time of increasing RV sales, LD is slowly fading away.
Once Ford ends production of the E450, who knows what will happen.
I don't know if Steve would be willing to invest in re-designing the templates for the seven floor plans, to fit whatever the market comes up with for the Class C market.
See them while you can.

We spent two weeks in February out at Grand Isle SP and enjoyed some fantastic weather. Great place for bike riding and walking on the beach. It's a ways down there, but at least there's a small village there with a grocery/general store.

Enjoy!

We have full timed in our 30' LD for over 7 years now and are always at or near the weight limit. Almost 5 years ago we purchased a set of Uniroyal Laredo and have been very happy with them. They were recommended by the dealer who also carried the Michelin and did a lot of truck and tractor/trailer tires. He didn't have them on hand and had to order so he wasn't trying to move them off the floor.

In our view the ride is a bit more comfortable than the original Michelin, they were less expensive and had the added benefit of being just a bit narrower which reduces the likelihood of the duallys kissing if they were to get a bit low. We also use a TPMS so that shouldn't be happening without our knowing.

I guess I should also add that I wasn't shopping based on finding the least expensive tire I was trying to find the best tire to do the job. I will probably replace them in the next year or so and will look at what is out there but will very likely go back with them assuming nothing has changed.

We are the gray and white MB with solar panels that hangs out a Pilot Knob LTVA every winter. If you're passing by Yuma feel free to stop and say hello!

Patsy Orr asked what is TPMS. From the ole Internet:

TPMS is an electronic system inside the tire that monitors the air pressure in your tires. If your tires are under- or over-inflated, the TPMS activates a warning light on your dashboard. This system can be a life-saver. Btw, we don't have one yet but it's on our list.

Well there were three of us in Yosemite a couple of weeks ago. At least one in Big Bear in a couple of weeks. And one more in Utah in July.

I'm not an accountant, but my numbers look pretty good from this end.

Ever ready to go...anywhere.
