Water Heater P&T Valve April 13, 2016, 03:22:51 pm Yahoo Message Number: 159882Is the relief valve the same that you can buy at Home Depot or is it a unique size that you have to pick up at an RV parts place?Jim C
Re: Water Heater P&T Valve Reply #1 – April 13, 2016, 03:54:52 pm Yahoo Message Number: 159884I'd get the number of the pressure relief valve from the exploded parts chart in the Atwood water heater literature that came in the owner's packet and order the OEM replacement part from an RV supply place. As ever, YMMV.Joan
Re: Water Heater P&T Valve Reply #2 – April 13, 2016, 05:13:49 pm Yahoo Message Number: 159885Jim-May I ask why you're looking at replacing the relief valve? If it drips, it may be because the air pocket in the heater has gotten too small. Atwood has a bulletin on how to restore the air pocket:http://www.askforatwood.com/images/WaterHeaterServiceTri-Fold.pdfThere's also an article on leaking valves on the Lazy Daze Companion:http://lazydazearticles.blogspot.com/2009/08/leaking-water-heater-pressure-relief.htmlI apologize in advance if I'm telling you things you already know.Mark
Re: Water Heater P&T Valve Reply #3 – April 14, 2016, 02:43:27 pm Yahoo Message Number: 159896I had looked at the LD companion first. What started this was flushing the hot water heater and opening the valve. Apparently, the valve didn't seat properly or got trash in it.Since I posted yesterday I tried flipping it open/closed a few times and now it appears to have stopped leaking. Thanks for the answers.Jim C
