New MIchelin Tire Update & Forum Feedback March 31, 2016, 05:53:18 pm Yahoo Message Number: 159649Several people on this Forum offered me guidance regarding new Michelin tires. (Btw, the demand for this brand and size of tire is high in this part of Texas.) Joan had urged me to get tires manufactured within 2 months and to pay close attention during the installation process. I had also asked for guidance on the life of Tire-Man valve stems. I also called Chuck at Tire-Man and as many know, he's a wonderful resource and help.First, I bought 6 Michelin tires with a date of 0816. They replaced all the rubber washers and seals on the Tire-Man valve stems and followed Chuck's instructions to the letter. This part of the installation could have gone a bit off-track if I hadn't followed Joan's advice - pay attention and watch each step. Michelin was offering a $70 rebate so my final out the door price to include replacement warranty was $1,230 for the six (6) tires. So once again, I'm thanking folks for priceless guidance, which is helping us avoid newbie hazards and traps. It's probably my imagination, but the LD seems to ride and drive a bit better with these new tires. (New running shoes use to make me run faster too.)Ed & Margee - '09 MB Fort Worth
