Bathroom door jammed! February 25, 2016, 09:52:08 am Yahoo Message Number: 158997Went to use bathroom and door seems to be locked. Coin in slot does not work. Think maybe towel/bathrobe stuck in lock. Looking to avoid taking off hinges. Any ideas?

Only a 1/16" to 1/8" of the latch bolt is holding the door. The closing piece holding it in place is a flexible wedge shape piece of plastic and should release with a small amount of pressure. Failing that, take a small screwdriver and press it into the left side of the latch bolt and leverage the bolt back to the right side. Those are my best ideas.Ed & Margee Fort Worth
Re: Bathroom door jammed! Reply #2 – February 25, 2016, 10:35:37 am Yahoo Message Number: 158999Thanks Ed,Unfortunately it was not a latch malfunction. Ended up taking off door. Found a soap holder on a rope suspended on towel rack got wedged between inside door handle and door. We will find a new place to hang them.Safe travels.Tom

Knowing it was something catching the latch, gentle jiggling and easing and firm steady pushing on the button of the latch opened the door the second time. We have made sure nothing catches in the future!Sandy 96 TK Vermont currently in Mathis TX
