LD website update

According to  javascript:alert(document.lastModified) , the LD website was last updated on 28 November, 2011; *if* this update information is accurate, it explains why photos of the latest interiors are not represented. Website updates appear to be a very low priority at LD! ;-)

(Note: if using Chrome, type the URL into the browser bar; c&p cuts off the "javascript" part.)

Yep, they outsource it to a guy who's using web design software as classic and retro as the Lazy Daze company and their products!

For the record, HoTMetaL Pro version 5 was released September 14, 1998, and the long-gone dotcom I worked for at the time used to bundle a version of it with a web-enabled BBS we developed.
If it ain't  broke, don't fix it, says I. www.lazydaze.com is one of the few websites  these days that doesn't bog down my browser with ads, scripts, flash,  CDNs, cookies, or anything else besides the information I went there to  get.  It's a great rabbit hole into the history of the World Wide Web. The Wayback Machine has an archived copy of the first Lazy Daze website from December 1998: http://web.archive.org/web/19981205050501/http://www.lazydaze.com/ which was actually pretty forward-thinking for its time. Here's what google.com looked like just a few days before Lazy Daze went online: http://web.archive.org/web/19981111184551/http://google.com/ fu

"...www.lazydaze.com is one of the few websites these days that doesn't bog down my browser with ads, scripts, flash, CDNs, cookies, or anything else besides the information I went there to get." ---- I agree that the LD site is "clutter-free", but I don't see how organizing, replacing and/or adding to the photos of the models' interiors in "Photo Gallery" would slow down the load or junk up the site?  *If* the photos now on the site don't show the *current* upholstery and cabinet color and pattern choices, how difficult would it be to update the gallery to provide customers with up-to-date "looks"?

I may be missing some technical aspect of the process of keeping one's business website updated; if so, please enlighten me. ???

As ever, YMMV.

When I went to look at an actual Lazy Daze at the Mother Ship (Sept 2014), I asked Steve about the fabrics shown on the website.   His response was something to the effect of....'the website is there just to get an general idea of what is available, not specific fabrics'.  When you finally get to the point of ordering a LD they send you actual swatches of fabric, carpet, etc....     I thought it odd that the website wasn't exact, but an actual swatch is better than a photo.   And I think many of the options are represented in the photos.
