LD Sighting: Pembroke Pines FL - Off I-75 Exit 9 January 18, 2016, 02:10:30 pm Yahoo Message Number: 158166LD's are so few and far between around here I just had to post this.It was a MB parked behind the Chili's on Pines Blvd. just East of I-75 around 10:30 last night. Couldn't see the color through dark tints and it was parked in the dark. Either way, it was probably the only LD within a 200 mile radius except for ours.Hope you are enjoying you trip.Safe travels!Danny

As a LD 27MB wannabe with family at that exit and exit 7, Miramar Pkwy, I spend a lot of mental energy wondering just how to boondock around these parts while visiting them in my LD! And I sit in NV and look at the area for affordable places to spend a month at a time near fam.Any suggestions? Thanks Val

We spend a fair amount of time boondocking in the state, so may have some ideas if you'll narrow the area down. Linda Hylton

Drove in on Saturday from Arkansas. Didn't see another LD on the way. I was hoping to push the windows open and enjoy the warm weather. Maybe tomorrow!Bill 23' - 03 FL

Re: LD Sighting: Pembroke Pines FL - Off I-75 Exit 9 Reply #6 – January 27, 2016, 07:54:06 pm Yahoo Message Number: 158399Hi Val,During our road trips we usually find an out-of -the-way parking spot in any parking lot. Usually at a Walmart but we have stayed overnight at a mall after dinner and a movie. We've also parked overnight at an outlet mall before going shopping the next day. I know you need to stay for a month but the good news is that there are various parking lots along Pines Blvd. including a Walmart. There's a Cracker Barrel an exit north on Sheridan. If you really wanted to you could select 7 or 8 spots and alternate so you never stay more than one night any spot. As you probably already know, it's probably better to come here around this time of year. Any other time would require using the air conditioner. If you decide to use a campground for some of your stay, there's CB Smith Park which is on Pine Blvd just east of I-75. I've never stayed there but it's close to your family and it seems to get good reviews. It's not cheap but may be a good plan B. Markham Park is about 5-10 minutes north on I-75. That might also be an option. Here's a link to both:Camping

My parents lived there for years before moving back to Uruguay. We drive through there once in a while to visit friends.
