We have an insulated snap-on cover for the escape hatch which includes screws for the part of the snap-on that must attach to the corners of the plastic moulding.   This hatch has small, plastic push-in pins in the corners of the hatch molding holding it in place on the ceiling.  So if anyone has installed one of these in the escape hatch, do you pull out those corner push-in pins and replace them with the screws and snap-on fitting? Thanks in advance.

We have found strip velcro does a much better job of holding the hatch cover tight to the opening. We also put a block of foam in.
