With only a few weeks to go before picking up our new LD at the Mothership, we have been busy purchasing our LD equipment and amenities. I looked into the Pyromid and found a couple on eBay but opted for the new version sold under the name EcoQue. It's fantastic. I purchased the 15" model and had an inaugural burn a few weeks ago. BBQ chicken for six people. Sweet and tender and it only required nine charcoal briquettes. I was very pleased. Especially when you consider that it folds up flat and stores away nicely. I have my eyes on the indoor grill now. Can't wait to get my hands on it.Thanks for the tip.Kent

Wishing you the best of times in your travels.Years ago I found out about the pyromid grill from some back packers while cruising thru Arizona in my old VW camper van. As you stated it uses very little charcoal, or almond/mesquite wood if your lucky enough to have some. A little hickory chips added if your cooking ribs is nice.I like making kabobs or steaming tamales in it. You just put a cup of water in a metal container and place it directly over the hot coals/wood. Place kabobs or tamales to the side and let the steam do it's work. Everything comes out juicy and not dried out even well done. A little green salsa verde really tops it off. Now I'm getting hungry. Time for hard salami and hot mustard from San Francisco. When I got the EcoQue, I paid a few dollars more for the griddle. Hot cakes, bacon and eggs...oh my. I also picked up the Coleman Fold-N-Go charcoal grill. Haven't fired it up yet, but it appears to be very conservative on its charcoal use. It also has a small foot print and lots of cooking area. I understand that there are often restrictions on the use of charcoal grills in some campgrounds, but the Pyromid/EcoQue may not have those restrictions. Any word on the validity of this? I'm not that thrilled with gas grills, but I suppose ya gotta do what ya gotta do.Kent
