Not sure if that is the exact name, but upon a suggestion four years ago about this, I did indeed install one. It was within my price range, as I had already had AM Solar up grade my panels, monitor, and had upgraded my converter...a pretty expensive grouping, but well worth it. The trickle was an add on 'extra', that made sense to me to use.

Since that time, it has worked perfectly, and on two different occasions, when I *ahem*/cough*  forgot to turn off something, or left a door ajar, and had run my engine battery down, by just sitting there for a hour or so, it had recharged my battery enough so that I could start the rig. 5amps will go a long way to topping off a 'down' battery!

Now, of course, I have added a 50ft. ex. cord, and purchased a new battery charger [my original bit the dust when I needed it most], and can fire up the gennie and use it if I get 'forgetful' again.

But for such a small price, it is a good little back up device to have. Some of us have to slowly add our upgrades as big chunks out of pocket just can't happen.
