Lazy Daze Sightings at Capitol Reef and Blanding

Just drove our Lazy Daze back to Blanding from Capitol Reef today.  Saw 4 Lazy Daze there at Capitol Reef and now 3 at Blue Mountain RV Park. We are going to fly our airplane back home to New Mexico tomorrow, after spending a week in Utah.   Our Lazy Daze is spending the summer in Utah.   Great to all those Lazy Daze!

Hi Jan

We meet two years ago at Capital Reef while you were moving your plane for the summer season.
April is the best time to visit the area before the heat sets in and turn the hard dirt into clouds of red dust.

How many planes have you built and own now? Who has more, you or Bumper.

Hi Larry,

We just flew back to E98 (Mid Valley) south of Albuquerque after waiting for a couple of hours for the snow and low clouds to clear out of the area around Blanding.  After leaving Utah, we had a nice trip home - tailwind much of the way.

We are about to fly our 10th home built airplane this summer.  Mike has been working on it for a couple of years now.  We still actively find time to fly 5 of those we have built.  We own all except one we gave up to a dear friend last year.  Many of them will not fly again and are hanging from the rafters here in our hangar at Mid Valley.

We agree - this is one of the times we enjoy that area - the other one is October.  We usually have our airplane and Lazy Daze out at Hanksville.  Go fly during the day visiting backcountry airstrips and then hang out at our motor home in the afternoon and evening.  Since we are both pilots, we alternate the flying and driving experience.

Hope you have a great vacation in that area!
