Heads up Topline bunk ladder nylon hooks April 03, 2015, 05:35:22 pm Yahoo Message Number: 152066Does anyone else use their overhead bunk for sleeping? If so keep a close eye on the Topline ladder nylon hooks at top of ladder. I had one break the other day when climbing down ladder. Fortunately it just shifted didn't fall over. I'm 200 lbs and the carpet/pad compresses where ladder stands and puts some tension on the hooks when under load. Topline sells four pack of these hooks. I'd suggest spares or fabricate a different stronger hook if you use the ladder.Topline MFG is in Paramount CA.

Both our 1983 and 2003 LD's ladders came with metal hooks. Maybe a metal replacement can be fabricated. The hooks on our 2003's ladder would be easy to replicate.Larry

Re: Heads up Topline bunk ladder nylon hooks Reply #4 – April 04, 2015, 09:19:24 am Yahoo Message Number: 152079I looked at the Topline website; among a few other products, the site showed bunk ladders in 60" and 66" lengths with nylon 1" hooks or 1.5" steel hooks. The ladder with 1" nylon hooks appears to be aluminum; the ladder with 1.5" hooks is steel. The 4-pack of nylon hooks wasn't listed in their catalog, and I didn't see a online buy option on the Topline site for any of their products? (?) A *quick* search of Amazon and several RV supply places showed the Topline ladders as available at some of them, but no pack of nylon hooks; if the hooks aren't available online from any source, maybe the company will sell and ship from their store? What year is your rig, "tpild"? Is the aluminum ladder with 1" hooks new? My 2003 came with a 60" steel ladder with 1.5" steel hooks; didn't know there was another type of ladder! ;-)Joan

I bought the replacement hooks directly from their mfg plant on Alondra Blvd. They appeared used to selling stuff out of their front office. I bought a pkg of 4, actually I wanted more but that is what they had to sell at the time. I had emailed them previously and they responded after I had already been to the office. The emailed response leads me to believe they would take an order and ship this.
