Butyl tape and windows

It is my understanding that the windows are sealed with this stuff. If the window is removed does that need to be replaced?

Various adhesives have been used through the years to secure the windows in the coach.
Removing the window destroys the sealant, requiring the old  sealants removal and then the use of new adhesive in the reinstallation, it's what hold the window in place and keeps it from leaking.
