Coach door weatherstripping replacement

Hi Joan. Too late to save you the work, but Bonnie and others can  use this. The foam just crumbled on my '99, so I just wiped it off leaving  that clear tape behind and residual pieces of foam. My attempts to remove  it were painfully slow. I got my cheap heat gun (less than $9 at HF) on low  about a foot away; the tape peeled off in a long strip leaving almost no  residue. GooGone took off the residual sticky stuff. The hardest part was the  area where I had tried to scrape it. The clear tape was damaged and wouldn't  peel. I used the white 3/4" wide foam tape from Home Depot instead of black.  RonB

Ron, I wish I'd thought of using a heat gun; that tip will certainly be useful for others, so thanks.

Thanks to both Joan and Ron for the weatherstripping tips. I expect a hairdryer wouldn't get hot enough but I may give it a try since I already have one.
Best, Bonnie
