Blocked Air Filter Dam

I want to pass along this issue our motorhome was having in hopes of saving others from this mechanical headache we just went through. The mechanic at the repair facility (The Truck Shop) said it was a first he had seen.
 My wife and I own a 2010 Lazy Daze on the Ford E450 chassis with the 5-speed automatic transmission (5R110W) that has the Tow/Haul mode.
 The transmission started leaking fluid from the overflow valve located on top and in front of the transmission. The motorhome was also lacking power going up hills and the transmission temperature would climb upwards to 212 degrees.I thought the cause of these issues might be that we are towing a 4,700 pound Jeep behind the motorhome.
 In short, we took it to a transmission shop near our home. They could not find anything wrong with it and referred us to a mechanic who specializes in Ford trucks. In two hours they found the air filter box was being restricted by the air dam flap. This flap is located below the shroud that runs lengthwise over the radiator and the air filter dam connects into it; thus, this flap sits right in front of the air dam that supplies air to the air filter. Somehow it got positioned where it was restricting air flow to the air filter. They removed it and the problem was solved.

I thought that this sounded familiar.  The same problem was reported on this forum in Jan, 2011, affecting the 2010 Ford chassis.  There is a Ford service advisory https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas/non-html/Q-199.pdf .
Other 2010 chassis owners should be aware.

Art, you are so right.   That bulletin is it.   A check for service bulletins was done, but this one did not come up. The mechanics got the one that superseded the one you found (I have a copy).  I think now that it threw them off because the picture is different and pertains more to checking the throttle body inlet pipe. Plus, there was no lack of acceleration in my case.

The motorhome accelerated just find and on level ground ran prefect.  Gas mileage was between 7.5 and 8.2 mpg. It was only going up a grade where it was noticed that the motorhome was not performing as normal.

Thus, everyone should know that there are two service bulletins out there dealing with this problem. The first one that you found (dated 10 Dec 2010) deals directly with my problem. The second one (dated 3 Jan 2011) deals with it, but focus on the throttle body inlet tube with only one picture of the corrugated throttle body inlet pipe. No pictures like you see in the one you attached.

P.S. I was going to post a link to the bulletin I have, but I cannot find it on the internet. For those with better search skills than mine, the TSB is 10-25-6 and the NHTSA ID # 10039134. I can only find this information at The Center of Auto Safety, but cannot seem to bring up the bulletin: 10039134 / TSB-10-25-6 | The Center for Auto Safety.  The copy I received is from a website called Promand.com. I think it's a subscription site they subscribe to.

 And, yes, it's a good idea to check periodically; although (the need for) most TSBs show up within a "few" years, they can be issued at any time on any model year if issues keep cropping up. And, service centers, even Ford service centers, don't necessarily routinely check for TSBs.
