Solar panel installation question September 25, 2014, 04:02:11 pm Yahoo Message Number: 148685Those of you who had solar panels installed by AM Solar in OR in recent years, did they attach brackets via screws or via adhesive or both?If they used adhesive was it the kind Eternabond would stick to?Thank you,Marcia and Leon Panoply - 2006 LD MB, blue Parenthetical - 2002 Jeep Liberty Sport 4x4, red
Re: Solar panel installation question Reply #1 – September 26, 2014, 01:14:07 pm Yahoo Message Number: 148695We had an installation done on July 23. They used screws and Dicor. Eternabond will seal over Dicor. (Never use silicone sealant as Etnerabond will not seal over silicone.)Dan and Lynn 2007 IB 30

Re: Solar panel installation question Reply #3 – September 26, 2014, 03:52:30 pm Yahoo Message Number: 148702As far as I know, the standard AM Solar procedure is to affix the panels with 3M VHB Tape under the mounting feet, add screws to the front feet for extra insurance, and then cover the mounting feet with sealant. But none of this will have any effect on applying Eternabond, which goes on the seams of your roof--not on things like solar panel mounts.Andy BairdTravels with Andy
Re: Solar panel installation question Reply #4 – September 26, 2014, 06:41:57 pm Yahoo Message Number: 148707Thank y'all for responding. There is apparent rust showing on one of our brackets installed in 2010 and the sealant appears to be wrong kind, so Leon is going to remove it and replace. So, Dicor is what he should get?
