Has anyone joined this social media site for RVers? I saw a post about it on a blog I read. It's designed to help bring RVers together - allows you to post interests and location and potentially meet up with others with similar interests. Seems like a neat concept. For example, could "check into" a campground and post a group campfire at site 75 at 8PM. Or a cocktail hour at 5 etc.

Yes, I've signed up.
The concept is good.  However, the failing point is that people have to remember to come back to the site each time they move to change their location.  If they don't then trying to meet up with people that are supposedly in your area isn't going to work since they'll be long gone.  I don't know about you, but I have more and better things to do when we arrive in a new than trying to remember to go to a website to change my location.
They're working on a mobile version which would make changes like this a lot easier.

I signed up for this group early on, and it has grown by leaps and bounds as far as numbers of members is concerned.  I started up a Lazy Daze group, and a few people have asked to join, but I haven't really gotten into the swing of it yet.  Since we aren't traveling right now, I'm not posting my "today" location, only my "home" location.  I'm not clear what a Lazy Daze group would actually do, apart from meeting up if in the same vicinity.

There is a nice routing feature, though, that allows one to enter in a destination, and the software will tell you a lot of information about what is along that route as regards other members, campgrounds, etc..  This could be useful to sort out what might be available, and then use that information to refine your stopping places along the way using other sources - to camp and/or meet up.

It's been around for only a few months, so as time goes by, it may very well evolve into a very useful tool for getting together with like minded folks.

Yes, sorry.  I didn't notice the error in the original post, and unfortunately perpetuated it.  It is, indeed, RVillage.com.
