Brakes sticking

Hello all,

1984 LZ 20' 5.7L V8 42,000

I replaced the Master Cylinder for the brakes about a month ago.
Had driven around town about 100 miles. Took off  from LA to Palm desert, CA. All good.
Then after sitting through the weekend I start driving again. About 5 miles into my drive. (after stoping) the brakes seemed to get tighter and tighter. Pulled off, and couldn't move at all until they cooled down.
Thought I was good. But then the same thing happened again only after stopping for gas. Drove about 110 miles and was fine till I stopped for gas.

Bad master cylinder? MC pistons? Calipers?

Also, has anyone ever used ACE Automotive in Blythe, CA?

Thanks!!

Scott

When replacing the master cylinder, the rod between it and the booster many times needs to adjusted to the FSM specs. You have the classic symptoms of not enough clearance, the rod needs to be shortened.   Larry

The same thing happened on my 1985, only the brakes locked up and I had to be towed.  I had to have the hydra boost brake booster replaced.
