Interesting.  I have read glowing reports from folks, mostly singles, who have recently purchased a Phoenix Cruiser, but haven't heard much from folks who have owned and used them for very long.  The floorplans seemed limiting to me.  The videos seemed to show that the inside was somewhat less cheery and bright than what I am accustomed to in a Lazy Daze.

I spent some time perusing the website (above), but was unable to find any stats on payload capacity, which is frequently the limiting factor on the Mercedes chassis units, nor any capacity figures for fresh water, grey/black tanks, propane, etc..

I'm sure there is a plethora of reviews on the internet to read.  Might be quite instructive.  Here's a review from Motorhome Magazine in 2010 that reviews a Phoenix Cruiser that is the same size as a 26.5-foot Lazy Daze:

which shows that a 12-foot refrigerator is the standard size, with the option of a 17-foot model.  The photograph that shows the refrigerator shows a unit that looks more like a regulation-sized, six-cubic foot unit.  I've had a 12-cubic foot refrigerator in a 40-foot live aboard Class A, and it looks entirely different from what I see in the photograph.  I cannot imagine how large a 17-cubic foot refrigerator might be!

An informative video (from Nexus) shows the details of a slightly smaller Phoenix Cruiser, more on the order of a 24-foot Lazy Daze.  The only sleeping area is a sofa bed with an air mattress that you blow up at night to use it.

This Phoenix Cruiser is a 2011, and was traded in with 7100 miles on it for a Nexus.

We looked at different PC's a few years ago. The limited OCCC ruled them out for our personal travel needs. Everyone is different in that respect but be sure to demand that info. in writings and not one of those "on don't worry about it. You'll be just fine". You may be just fine, but satisfy yourself about that important issue.

Whatever your choice, enjoy your travels.

As of 2012 (the most recent information I have), the RV Consumer Group gave 3.5 to 4 stars (out of 5) to most Phoenix Cruiser models. All PC coaches were rated for "Vacationing," meaning that they are considered unsuitable for year-round or even snowbird use. Reliability and value were rated 75 in most cases.

By contrast, RVCG gave Lazy Daze models 5 stars, rated them for "Snowbirding," and assigned a reliability score of 96 and a value score of 100.

For those who don't know, RVCG is the RVing equivalent of Consumer Reports: fiercely independent, unbiased (unless you count strong prejudices in favor of safety and reliability), and not financed by advertising.
