Tom, if you are having problems with the blind I would just take it off and restring. Not hard to do. There is a companion file on how to do it which I followed for my first one. The strings can be bought in a kit at CW or on line. There are two grommets on the top that you change out and that makes them slide easier. Good time to clean them laying out on the ground also. I used a vacuum with a brush attachment. The trick on putting them back is two people so you can adjust the tension. Be sure and measure the old string piece when you cut the new ones. After you do one you will be a pro. I was careful to adjust the tension just enough so the blind would stay up and you will be surprised how easily they work. Get started or have that real efficient wife of yours do it. She would love it.  Hope all is well and say hi to her for us. Take care, john
