27 MB Saloon Table

We're making a new table to replace the laminate-topped factory option removable table.  The plan is for it to be better located, expandable, and more stable than the LD option.  We're planning to use the Sequoia table base and post (available at Camping World) which features a positive locking twist-in connection of the post to the floor mount.  Has anyone had experience with this system, and more important, drilling holes for through-bolts or screws in the rear salon near the existing table post mounting hole?  Any wisdom or advice on this project greatly appreciated.

You'll have to be careful about tankage underneath to thru bolt your bracket both for clearance and accessability. Post a picture when you get done, we'd like to see your handiwork!

Yes, we are using the table base from Camping World as you described. We were forced to replace our factory-supplied post after a couple of young ladies from a water polo team tried to use our table as a seat. lol. Since our floor base is covered by carpet we put the lock twist-in part on the bottom of the table. It did stiffen up the table but not to our entire satisfaction. I am planning to get another and similar locking base for the bottom and modify the post. We do like the opportunity to walk around the table in our MB model. That's the reason we do not like to fasten the table to the back wall. Hope this helps.
