Anyone replaced one?  Ours died(original).  If so, brand, model any any mods needed please.  Thanks for any help.  Tried Eureka but could not find info on replacing.

Thanks, Gary and Jeri

If you pull out your old microwave oven (just remove the four screws holding it in place), you'll find that it's an ordinary microwave oven with a couple of mounting plates attached to the top and bottom and an air-deflector baffle on top. These should be easy to transfer to an oven of similar dimensions.

Hi,

I replaced mine when it died.

I bought one at Camping World as they had an exact fit microwave and I needed it quickly.  I don't remember which Dometic model I bought, but Camping World only lists 3 models on their website.  My microwave is all black and looks slightly different from the ones they show, but I replaced mine a couple of years ago and models change.

Take your microwave out, measure it and look at the measurements on the CW website.  It wouldn't be surprising if you could buy it cheaper at one of the other online RV supply places.  Perhaps you can find a microwave online that fits and is cheaper than CW.

It wasn't much work doing the replacement.  There is an exterior plate at the bottom of the microwave where you remove the screws and lift the microwave up and out (as I remember).  I think the cord was long enough for it to sit on the counter before unplugging the microwave.  If that's not true for you, you'll need someone to hold the microwave and another to unplug it.  I put a couple of woods near the lip to make sure the microwave didn't try to move forward. It just plugs in to a regular 110 volt receptacle.  No problems since then.

My microwave quit at last months caravan. We have a 2004 RB and have been pleased with it for the past 10 years. I removed the dometic  unit and measured it up for a replacement of the same size.
I then went to Home Depot and got a black one of the identical size, $79 on sale for $69 and got $10 off due to a scratch on the side. This won't show with the slide in unit, also got my military discount and had a $30 gift card on some brackets I returned. Out the door it was less than $30 and worked like the original one did.
Installation was a snap, removed and installed top and bottom covers. Plugged it in and screwed it to face frame.
Then had six tires replaced under the Michelin recall at Allen tire here in the OC.

glad it all worked out good for you.  in fact it was almost like they  paid you to buy the microwave.  hehehehehe.  i took my rv into fairway  on monday.  left it there.  they said they were having trouble getting  tires because of the recall.  i am still waiting.  i hope they can  replace them by next week as troy and i are going up north to visit a friend of  his over the 14th weekend.  we will not be at caravan the following week as  we can't take that much off work.  but i'll still get the email out for the  outbacks.  i should have check with allen before taking my rv to  fairway.
