For those who use blocks rather than hydraulics to level their rig, it is well known that to avoid stresses on the chassis it is best to adjust the block surfaces such that the tire contact points are coplanar. Still, it is tempting sometimes to level out using only blocks under the front wheels, requiring fewer blocks typically. Still, I have noticed that attempting to level side-to-side this way does not achieve a result proportional to the number of blocks used. However, leveling side-to-side by placing blocks at the rear IS effective, followed by compensating with front blocks.
 Last week strolling past a lot of Lazy Daze's at a Caravan meet, I noticed that rigs (Ford V10s) leveled by uneven blockage only at the front displayed a very visible sign of the flexing of the rig. The gap between bumper and cab below the grill was uneven, the smaller gap on the side raised. Not to indicate a sign of impending damage, but still proving the superiority of the coplanar method of leveling.
