Drawers opening while driving- a solution 11 years ago Yahoo Message Number: 144589Ciao's wardrobe drawers tended to fly open while we were moving, which I found distracting. So in just a couple minutes, I installed these baby-proofers and problem solved.http://tinyurl.com/ok4zqmqWalmart also has them in the baby department. Now, you might not like having to push the tab down prior to opening the drawer all the way, so I would only add them if you need them.I know the drawers are supposed to have a special locking feature if you move it just right, but I suspect that feature wore outon Ciao years ago. This has been a time-tested solution for us.Hope that helps someone, Tessa in TX '92 MB- Ciao Baby!
Re: Drawers opening while driving- a solution Reply #1 – 11 years ago Yahoo Message Number: 144595That is a good idea. I have one drawer (under the refrigerator) I tend to keep a bunch of stuff in, including some tools. More than the others that drawer has some times not closed properly. Also I accidentally pulled the drawer all the way out once and did not return it to the rail when properly. The drawer would close but not properly "set down" into the lock position for driving. Between the extra stuff and the drawer looking like it is in place when it is not (my fault not the RVs) I am thinking of installing a backup catch. By the way, yes, I did remove a bunch of stuff from the drawer, but Im sure it will collect there again. John
Re: Drawers opening while driving- a solution Reply #2 – 11 years ago Yahoo Message Number: 144603On my 24' I have one draw that would be hard to keep latched. I removed the draw and made the notch under neath the draw a little deaper and 1/16 wider with a file and now the draw locks good.
Re: Drawers opening while driving- a solution Reply #3 – 11 years ago Yahoo Message Number: 144609We added the magnetic baby locks instead to all our drawers and lower cabinets, in part to prevent opening, in part to keep our visiting granddaughter out of them. We had one drawer before that which would open on its own. We keep one release in the bathroom cabinet and another one on the stove hood for quick access when they are locked.Marcia and Leon Panoply - 2006 MB Parenthetical - 2002 Jeep Liberty Sport
