Some might find the following suggestions helpful:

Andy's electric pages; clearly-presented essential information, illustrated with diagrams:
 http://www.andybaird.com/Eureka/pages/electrical.htm

"Managing 12 Volts: How to Upgrade, Operate, and Troubleshoot 12 Volt Electrical Systems" ; Harold Barre

The Barre is a very good resource, but it does contain comprehensive, detailed information (aka TMI) that can be confusing for the electrical novice, i.e., expect to read these resources with your finger following along under the line of print if you are not familiar and experienced with systems involving 'wires'. Available on Amazon, etc.

The three primers by Dale Lee Sumner, an RV tech, present simple, basic explanations of an RV's 12V system, the 120VAC system, and four appliances: AC, refrigerator, water heater, and furnace. All could use a good editor (IMO), but one's finger is not in play when reading these.

'The 12-volt Side of Life' (parts 1 and 2) by Mark Nemeth is found at this link:
 http://www.marxrv.com/12volt/12volt.htm

Howard Payne's electrical pages:
 http://www.rv-dreams.com/rv-electrical.html

Bill Darden's Battery FAQ site is excellent:

http://batteryfaq.org/

Solar 'education' from AM Solar:

And, all the savvy, experienced, and helpful people on this board!

Thank you, Joan. At least once a day I wish I had you along to educate me. I would really have helped, if I could have made the Ladeze meeting in September. I have to re-read all the things I already read (I used to hang out on Andy's web site and have even --pst pst --seen him naked), but I also have ADD and nothing sticks until I have done it once myself. (I dumped my tanks for the first time a couple of days ago, and let's just say I was glad I had waited till after dark so nobody could watch and managed to keep the disaster to a minimum.) I am now in the desert near Yuma with all the time in the world. I will read every one of the suggested sites. Thanks again.
Ilse Btw, years ago I read your essays about researching, deciding on, and getting your LD, which made me want one..thanks!

Are you planning to be there for awhile, Ilse? My brother lives there and I may be there for Christmas, so if you are and would like it would be great to meet up, until 4 years ago I lived in Washington.
