Blow out!

On the trip home from the storage facility yesterday, BLOW OUT! I haven't ever experienced anything like this before, I was alone and thought the tow bar disengaged or the oven fell out of the wall and crashed to the floor. I immediately pulled over on I-35 and realized an inside rear tire blew out!
Lessons learned: Pay attention to your tires. You may recall that I purchased this LD last Fall and decided to gamble for another year on the tires (4 of them are 10 years old, 2 are years old). THIS IS NOT A GOOD IDEA!
AAA RV service is fair to midland. After telling the agent that I was in a 27' Motorhome, a tow service arrived an hour later and said he was told that I was in a travel trailer. He wouldn't touch me. 2 hours later another service came out and his first comment was he "didn't know if he had a wrench big enough" to remove the chrome wheel cover! He was able to get it off, jack up the RV, and change the tire. But certainly not a great experience!

NEW TIRES (ALL) ON TUESDAY!

The service was "fair to midland" should have said "fair to middling", an old phrase used

Too bad you had to learn that lesson the hard way. Keep an eye on your tires from here on in. About that "wrench", if your new to you LD did not come with one I'd suggest you call the Mothership and order one up. And, most of us here won't let the service guy remove the wheel covers, it's far better that you do it yourself so you know it's done right.
