NAPA AUTO PARTS - Battery disconnect switch

The below battery disconnect switch is what LD installed between the two AGM batteries in our 2010 RB coach. I got an additional one from NAPA Auto Parts and installed it between the two additional AGM batteries I added in the left forward storage compartment of our coach. Both work quite well.

 The below blade type battery disconnect switch that can be easily found in RV supply stores (and Amazon) are DANGEROUS!  I learned the hard way many years ago when the plastic base melted when the terminal overheated due to a short.

 The below marine style Tom Johnson recommended is also an excellent choice if a mounting location is easily obtained.

 This inexpensive switch is not explosion-proof and should not be installed in the battery compartment unless equipped with AGMs.
It's a cheap, little thing, go with the Napa switch or better.
 When the battery compartment was remodeled, after moving the four T-105s to an under the frame location,  a marine dual battery switch wad added.

It allows the coach battery to be used for jump-starting the engine or for charging both the chassis and starting batteries, using the converter, solar panels or engine's alternator, nice if the battery combiner/isolator fails.
 If replacing or adding a switch in the stock battery compartment, when using conventional lead-acid batteries, make sure to use a sealed, marine-style switch to avoid possible gas explosions.
If you plan on a large inverter, consider upgrading to a switch with a high amperage rating.
