L.D. NADA VS Selling Price
Yahoo Message Number: 141729
We are considering buying a used L.D. We just sold our 2003 New Horizons 5th. wheel after listing it for one year. It was in excellent condition and we sold it for 25% off NADA suggested price. In today's economy, I did not want to pass up this offer.

When negotiating on a used L.D. can I expect a similar deal?
Before buying the N.H. We had considered a L.D., but for our needs at the time (fulltiming for five years) the N.H. Worked out very well for us. Our plans now are to make shorter trips more often.

Well I guess everything is negotiable.  I do not think that you will see 25% off the price listed

Al, in our group's Files area, in the Buying & Selling folder, you'll find a document called "LD Asking Prices 2013". That'll give you an idea of typical asking prices. (We also have a small database of selling prices, but it's not as comprehensive and most of the data is outdated, so I wouldn't put much faith in it.)
That doesn't answer your question, of course, since asking prices are not necessarily selling prices. But from what we've seen over the years, with late-model (less than five years old) Lazy Dazes there's likely to be very little difference between the two. Of course, the older the rig, the more room there is to negotiate.
More important from your point of view, the selling price of a Lazy Daze built within the last ten years is likely to be equal to or even higher than the NADA price. NADA has traditionally undervalued LDs, probably because their data comes only from dealer sales, while most Lazy Dazes are sold privately.
To summarize, assuming you're shopping for a Lazy Daze that's no older than your previous rig (2003), you can probably expect to pay close to the asking price, and as much as or more than the NADA price.

I think you will find prices all over the place, with no apparent rhyme or reason. Actually, from a completely biased & self-reinforcing perspective (we have a 22'), you may find that the shorter 22/23.5' hold their values better over time.

This is completely anecdotal from eBay, but a 2004 26.5' MB

Since a picture is worth a thousand words, here's a poster of San Onofre, which was painted back

Regan

That's cool painting, love to have a copy.
At $285, for a print, it's a little too rich for my budget.
Now, if it was up on the Central Coast, that might be different ;-).

Parking a 22 to 24 foot motorhome on San Onofre beach would be easier but I think you could back-up a 26.5 Laze Daze without a problem assuming the right parking spot. I hope someday to give it a try.
I'm able to park my 26.5 MB at home but it is a tight fit.  So far on two trips I'm encouraged where I can park a 26.5 Lazy Daze since we do not pull a toad.  We just go to restaurants early and plot out spots to park that work.  With two kids the 26.5 MB foot was the only way to go to keep everyone comfortable.  I could see where a smaller RV would hold value a bit better over time but I'd still make the initial purchase based on need.  26.5 mid bath is a perfect fit for four with separate sleeping quarters.
