Insurance in New Jersey July 30, 2013, 04:00:51 pm Yahoo Message Number: 141610I've had my Lazy Daze insured with American Modern Home for over ten years. I pay less than $400 a year for insurance. I just received a letter from them stating that they are ceasing insuring RVs in New Jersey and my policy will be cancelled. However, I will receive 60 days notice of cancellation. Does anyone know of insurance companies that insure RVs in New Jersey at a comparable rate? Thank you in advance for any suggestions.Monica NE 10

They are just about the easiest folks to deal with on the front side. All on a web page, no salesman will call." Agreed. And I'll add that they are also the easiest to deal with once you're a customer. If you remember my lightning-strike incident a few years back, Progressive paid promptly, and paid even more than I requested (because to my complete surprise, they insisted on paying me $100/hr for my own labor in fixing the few things I was able to repair myself). And my rates actually WENT DOWN in subsequent years! I can't say enough good things about them. Whether you'll get the same rate you have now, I don't know. $400 sounds extremely low to me, but I'm guessing you must have some kind of barebones coverage from your other insurance carrier. From my experience, though, you'll probably get as good a price from Progressive as from anybody else, given your location. New Jersey is a terrible state for vehicle insurance. I don't know whether it's the laws or the high accident rate, but insurers hate to do business in that state, and will pull out given the slightest excuse.
