[LD] Problem starting "Lucy", my '84 6.2 Deisel LD

Let's change this to just us.

Have you tried to jump Lucy off yet?

Do you want to learn to do this or are you stuck?

The battery is in a box that is bolted to the underside of the bus.
...under the driver's seat, with battery cables disappearing into it.
Brace the box with a bottle jack.
Unbolt the box.
Lower the box.
Remove the battery connections.
Swap out the battery and reverse the process.

Not rocket science, but tools and strength are required.

OK, I understand! I've tried to jump Lucy with a friend's truck and jumper cables, but it wouldn't work.  I will try your suggestion with the black box.  I saw the bolts and now I understand about using a bottle jack to keep it from smashing my head!  OUCH!  I have a friend named "George" who said he will help me.  Those "George's" sure are helpful!"  I'll keep you posted! Kathy
