It's posted on The Companion. The pass is over 10,000 feet, so expect snow along the road there well into July. Thanks, Bob.Cheers, Don

It's not the Beartooth, but kinda like it. From one of the links you posted: The Snowy Range Scenic Byway drives through the heart of the Medicine Bow National Forest and is peppered with crystal blue lakes and jagged gray granite peaks. Perhaps more like the upper western slopes of the Sierra Nevada. We wanted to camp at one of the FS CG's there which is above 10,000 feet. The highest designated FS CG I know of. In mid July, it was still closed with snow 3/4 feet high. http://www.forestcamping.com/dow/rockymtn/medbcmp.htm#brooklyn lake You will have to paste this link in, as there is a space before 'lake'.Of course, it sure not for everyone. Forest Rt. 317 is a rough paved road that becomes dirt after 1.6 miles. However, Every site has a view of the lake ranging from great to spectacular.Cheers, Don
