Introduction and Open to Advice!

Hello Everyone,
I'm Pam, a new LD 26.5' MB owner as of this afternoon. I've been reading all of the great information on this site for some time, and I want to express my gratitude to everyone, and particularly to Andy Baird, for the expertise and advice that has helped me get to this point.
My first RV experience, at age 11, involved 2 adults and 6 kids.  We packed ourselves carefully, one at a time, into a wobbly travel trailer at bedtime, carefully balancing the weight on both ends of the trailer, only to be woken up when one of the kids got up to go outside to the bathroom, tipping all the water in a soaking spaghetti pot all over the rest of us--and leading to a mass evacuation in which the kindly and bemused man next door showed us the brace that miraculously solved our weight distribution woes. : )
Since then, I have considered myself open to any and all tips, however seemingly banal.  So feel free to share any caveats or tips that any of you feel a beginner shouldn't be without.   Thanks again, and hope to meet some of you in the future!

Welcome Pam! Your story reminds me of growing up with family vacations in a small travel trailer with mom, dad and five kids. Pretty cramped but we saw a lot of the country including 50 years ago being right here in Seattle for the World's Fair! Great memories.
Where are you from and what year is your MB? You'll love it and all the great LD owners you will meet.

Happy Travels to you!

No name

Welcome and thanks for putting a smile on my face. Would that *brace*  happen to be called a 'tounge jack' by any chance??? Been there, done that.

Welcome, Pam, to the LD family!  Thanks for sharing your first RV experience.  It was a good laugh and yes, I can see where we like to seek advice from those here on the LD forum.  It is a great experience being a part of this LD family.

May your adventures

Welcome, Pam.  Best of luck with your LD.  They are great rigs.

Your story takes my vote for the best intro to our group!
