I did not get a reply to my query about where/how the antenna mast might be tightened. I will call Vince at the Mothership.

However, I did get some helpful? responses from friends.

Sorry to hear you are suffering from floppy batwing.  Have you been to the doctor yet? ? ? ?
 You know, if you have a floppy batwing, they have a little blue pill that might help...  ;-)

Don, our '83 came with a Batwing manual, and I have in the past removed it from the roof for repair - I'm pretty sure without disturbing the integrity of the upper flange seal. That way you can tell if the 'floppy' is repairable or if needs a new one. Winegard probably has a down-loadable manual.
