Shelves added to 30'TB Bedroom
Yahoo Message Number: 126249
As was requested by Steve in another post, I've posted some photos of our shelves project to the Photos Folder.  It is titled "Added Shelf 30'TB".
We have a 30'TB and had converted our twin beds into a (sideways) king bed.  We had planned to hang a tv from the ceiling in the bedroom, but instead we added a shelf (about 8" down from the ceiling) across the span from the closet to the rear overhead cabinet and then installed an under cabinet mount for the tv.  We liked it so much, we added a second shelf on the opposite side.
This upgrade was done about 6 years ago and we've been very happy with it.  Along with holding the tv it gives us a spot for a DVD player and hides all the cables and wires and inverter.   We also can store lightweight and/or bulky items like blankets and jackets there.
We are fulltimers and must be careful on added weight in the rig, so we cut some corners on the shelf.  Most notably, we used foam poster board for the top rather than wood -- except for the small section that holds the tv mount -- that is plywood.
Vecro straps are used to hold the DVD in place and we fold the tv up and hold it in place with Velcro straps while in transit.
