Assistance With Route - Big Spring TX to Artesia NM

Does any one have a recommendation for the best route to follow heading west from Big Spring Texas to Artesia New Mexico? I'll appreciate any insight.
 LD Sighting: Yesterday in Lindale, Texas, we were waiting to get across traffic from the Shamrock station to re-enter I-20 W. Our opportunity was provided by a teal Lazy Daze with a toad. Whoever you are, we thank you.

George and Carol, Take 87 North to Lamesa. 180 West to Hobbs.  Outside of Hobbs take 529 connecting to 82 west to Artesia.  Good roads, no traffic.  Enjoy the oil fields near Loco Hills, NM.
