vibration puzzle...help!

My 05 rear bath lazydaze got a brand new set of Michelin LTX M/S tires on June 1. These were exact replacement of original tires and were changed out with 50,000+ miles due to age(some side wall cracking). That is when my problems started. The cooach had a noticeable vibration upon leaving the Discount Tire store. It was returned and the tires were rebalanced and a R front tire was replaced. This did not resolve the issue. Another tire store did a rebalance which did not help either. It was suspected that there was a drive train problem. So, off to the Ford dealer. The "carrier bearing" was said to be "torn" and the entire drive shaft was then replaced. Still the vibration remains. So off to another Discount Tire Store for a road force balance...three more of the tires are replaced. The vibration is still felt in both the seat and steering wheel at speeds of around 40 and up and with increasing steering wheel vibration at speeds 65 and up. Back to Ford for diagnosis. They insist that it must be tire related and require another road force balance with printouts to verify problem. This is done and the vibration is just as bad (or maybe even worse) than before. Now we have changed out 4 tires and done 6 tire balances (2 of them road force) and changed the entire drive shaft. Any suggestions? Oh, I might add that subsequent to reading posts on this site about Bilstein shock bushing failures I checked the upper bushings on the coach when I brought it home from the dealership for the weekend and the one one the passenger side fell right out in my hand! So thanks so much for that little pearl. Carol

Shirley, have you had the front wheel bearing repacked yet. I did mine at 48000 and they said they were due. Just a thought. Maybe they checked them already.
Good luck, john leach, no longer in Prescott. Monument, Co.)

--- Maybe the information on one of these websites might help to diagnose your problems:

It's difficult to diagnose the causes of your particular problems without seeing the tires and wheels, without knowing the levels of knowledge and skills of the "tire guys" (often highly questionable!), how the shops mounted/dismounted the tires and/or what type of balancing equipment they used, or *any number* of other possible conditions that might contribute to an out-of-balance situation.  You've apparently already gone to three different places trying to get this problem fixed, and it sounds like all of these places have no idea what the problem(s) is/are and are blindly "throwing parts".
Maybe others will offer suggestions, but you might try to find a tire shop that has state-of-the-art diagnostic and balancing equipment, knowledgeable techs, and experience with "heavy" chassis, e.g., the tire shop(s) that service(s) the local ambulances or other "delivery" businesses which use the Ford E-450.

Good luck.

Thanks for your reply and the web links. The Cozmoz is now in the hands of a Ford dealer that does service RVs, panel trucks and the like and they did the last balance on state of the art 9700 Hunter road force balance machine with printouts. As to their expertise, that remains to be seen. So far I am not impressed. Don't now expect to be on the road again as soon as I had planned. Looks like upcoming trip to midwest will be van vs Lazydaze. Will report solution to this puzzle whenever it is solved. Carol
