GFI & Generator

We're currently dry camping in Capitol Reef (to quote Larry, no internet, oh the horror!).
Whenever we turn on the generator (solar is pretty scarce in this wooded CG) the GFI trips.
We simply have to hold it down then reset it, but still this is new behavior.

Any ideas?  And should we be worried?

The purpose of a GFI circuit breaker is to detect very small amounts of leakage to ground so that it will trip before it can do damage to you.  The most common cause of tripping is moisture in the sockets.  I know you are dry camping, but it would be helpful to know if it also trips on shore power.  It could also just be a defective GFI breaker.  In any case, I would treat it as a problem that needs to be fixed.

"The most common cause of tripping is moisture in the sockets."
And speaking of that, you have an exterior AC socket on Cholula Red, don't you? I'd suspect that first, since it's outside and could get dampened, despite its cover.
