Update on winegard outlet

I couldn't figure it out...so I took it to my favorite repair shop.   The shop foreman came armed with his tester, checked it, no juice to the tv accessory receptacle.
It was an easy fix - (especially since he knew what he was looking for!) - on the older units, there is a metal piece that goes to the top of the receptacle.  Below it, are little 'prongs', that when a plugin is well, plugged in, causes them to make contact with the metal above and then we've got power to it.
He went back into the shop and came out with a new unit...installed it, tested it (power!), plugged my extension into it (it fit!), and now the fans will work when plugged in.
I thought everyone might want to know what the issue was!   (And sorry if my description is not that good!)

Cheers! Helen

Great explanation to me Helen.  I was going to say that something is not making contact back there as your tech found out.
