pick your brain July 22, 2010, 09:36:52 am Yahoo Message Number: 114670Clara, Just got into a WiFi site at the Newfoundland ferry terminal in N. Sidney, Nova Scotia this morning (7/22/10). This will be our 20th trip to NL since 1984. We have many friends there that we stay with in addition to the provincial parks. Pricing I am not too familiar with currently but we were paying around $25/night(senior rate/no hookups) in Nova Scotia. We don't stay in private parks much perferring the dry camping in the wilds. One can also check with local residents in the small costal villages for a place to park overnight and they are more than willing to assist. Top 3: (1) St. John's area and stay in Pippy Park there. (2) Fogo & Change Islands. (3) Lanse aux Meadows viking village. Then Gross Morne, Trout River, Lark Harbor/Bottle Cove, Cape St. Mary's, La Manche Park, whale/bird tours at Bay Bulls. Events: Get all this information at the Provincial Information Kiosk upon entry to each province along with maps and campground guides. Went to Labrodor once and got carried away with the flys. Would have been better in later August. You may see icebergs along the northern shore in early July and plenty of whales. We only send travel/photo E-mails to friends. Havent had time to Blog yet. If you want, I can add you to my list. Quote >Route from home: I-75 to US 301 to A1A to I-95 to I-26 to I-77 to I-81 to I-84 to I-90 to I-495 to I-95 to Bangor to Maine SR 9 to Calais/St. Stephen to NB-1 to Trans Canada to N. Sidney. Ferry to NL Port aux Basque. After leaving NL later in August, we are going out west (maybe Glacier NP) for a while before returning home. We would like to go to the Charleston SC event but don't know if we will be back from the west then. Opps, the ferry is starting to load now, got to go---- Mike & Elizabeth Coachman
