Used Lazy Daze RV's For Sale...

For anyone doing a search for a used Lazy Daze RV, I found by searching... Lazy Daze, CraigsList I could search all across the country.

Found the following site...

where if you scroll down, they have listed Used Lazy Daze RV's from as low as $1,750 for an 84' to a high of $45,000 for a later year model.
 The site to my knowledge doesn't make a commission or any money from providing this service.

Thanks for the link, that is an interesting site.
 I took the asking price data from your search site and compared it to the much maligned 'Lazy Daze Asking Prices' table (updated for 2010 prices).  For the data that had year and model data, the result was that the table would estimate an asking price that was on the average of 8.6% higher than the actual asking price.  If one 'obvious' oulier was excluded, this became 4.6% (+/- 31%)/
 For those who wish to make their own comparisions, the updated 'Lazy Daze Asking Prices'  table is given below:

Barry, shouldn't 2010 be the top number instead of 2009?  This would drop each number down one place and make it closer to the older Used Lazy Daze asking prices.   ? ? ? ? ???  Possibly the 2010's have not been built as of yet?

 Any idea how much would add to this price for options added from factory as well as aftermarket? We had lots added to Starr
 We are trying to come up with a price for our '07RB and would like to sell her before June along with tow car -

NADA will give you "an independent guess" of how much options add. But don't believe NADA on that or the base selling price. NADA is necessarily based on relatively few LDs - compare to autos, for example. And is therefore less authoritative.

 Yes I ran the NADA and it did not allow for several options and felt the price given was way not anywhere near accurate especially since we take good care of our LD -

Be prepared to not receive much for options. When we sold our 1997 Foretravel, it had a beautiful full body paint job in 2007. It cost $20K. I'm not sure we got more than $1K for it. However, options CAN make RVs easier and quicker to sell.
 We were pleased with what happened when we recently sold our 1997 RB.
We set a fair price, held to it, had several folks really interested in it, and sold it quickly for the price we set at the get-go.
 At the end of the day the RB had so many neat options that I thought we probably left money on the table but a quick sale and a very happy buyer made it very worth-while to us. That might be because we're not the kind of folks who would "skin a flea for its tallow."
 Moreover, one of my priorities in life is to simplify - which probably means I value quick sale far more than getting the most I can from the buyer.  As always, YMMV...

 I'm certain they are...there's no way, without preparing a huge file, that the prices could take into account all the permutations of the various options offered.

There's a general rule of thumb in cars and airplanes that aftermarket options should sell for about 50% of cost to install. I think this is hugely variable depending on the cost of the option compared to the value of the vehicle - and how desirable the option is . . . sort of like having a new swimming pool in your back yard in a low rent run down neighborhood. Also, the older the RV the less of that 50% one would expect to recoup.

You are right.  Mea culpa.
 After I corrected this oversight, the comparison to the internet 'For Sale' data got a little better.   The estimates were 1.9% higher than the actual (after removing the outlier).  Of course, there is still lots of scatter in the data.
 Ted (wxtoad) also pointed out the same discrepancy.  We have a sharp group.

 This has been discussed before, and the answer is that there is no answer.
 The 'Asking Price' tables were developed ignoring the effect of add ons, mileage, condition, etc.  This is probably part of why there is quite a bit of scatter in the data, as represented by the Standard Deviation (+/-).
 If and when I price my own vehicle, I would probably add on the cost of significant options or add ons, depreciated by the % factor in the table.

 History repeats itself.  Below is the text of messages 103335 and103356.

Bumper: "I think a more reasonable approach is to add 1/2 the cost of the expensive options to the "base price". This doesn't account for labor to install those options, which can be substantial. Actual asking and selling price might be a bit more than 1/2 MSRP. It depends on the perceived value of the options is to the buyer.
 One thing for sure, you probably shouldn't count on getting all your money out of expensive options. AND, for buyers of an LD so equipped, if it has the options you want, then it's possible to realize a substantial savings over buying an LD and then adding the options later."

Barry: "I agree completely with your opinion of the effect on the price of LD's due to add-on's. Once when I was young and eager, I collected data for a couple of years on the asking prices for Stinson aircraft from Trade-a-Plane and did a multi-parameter analysis to find the effect of extras such as radios, low engine time, recent re-cover, etc.
 In agreement with what you say, my conclusion at the time was that the pay-back on options was in their use, not their effect on the sales price. The best buy seemed to be to buy with low engine time and lots of options."

At least both of us are consistent in our beliefs.

To Bumper, Paul, Barry and Who Ever I left out -
 Can't tell you how much I appreciate your discussion today regarding added options and ratio to price etc -
 This is just what I needed to help me resolve pricing out our lovely RB.
 Barry I appreciate the corrected asking price list as that seems more rational in perspective to '10's being on market now - I can use that as a base and work with the 50% less install as a good guide line -
 We to like a quick sale and happiness in a exceptable price as Paul mentioned then moving forward - The couple that bought our first coach are still dear friends, that is the way to do it 'o)

I would post a free ad on Craigslist not only in the town your located but surrounding cities as well. If your LD is in good shape and I'm sure it is will sell itself. There are more buyers than sellers in the used market from what I have seen. Good luck with your sale.

As a recent buyer, I can share with you my .02.  I think most folks looking for a used RV are hoping for one that has been properly maintained to include a recent maintenance history.  They are also hopeful that if the RV is priced in the average range for age and mileage, that everything is working (at least for the moment).  New buyers are interested in tire wear and age of the tires, any leaks or water damage, any repaired and unrepaired damage to the RV.  As a new buyer, I had hoped for a RV that was stored uncover when not in use and that previous owners were non-smokers.  I was interested in the number of previous owners.  If the seller addressed these items, their ad caught my attention.  The ads that included quality close up pictures of the interior and exterior were especially helpful.  Motorhomes of Texas does a great job of presenting their RVs to include a certain amount of staging in their photos.  Their RV's appear clean and well maintained.  Finally, I think that the best ads (regardless of the product) are written to focus on the best features of the item for sale. One of the final steps is posting an ad in as many places as you can find to include various RV forums, RV Trader, RVT Trader, and of course Craigslist.

I used some of my own advice when we sold our last house.  It sold in 18 hours for our asking price.  In September 2015, I sold our 2004 Ford Crewcab XLT with 130,000 miles in 6 hours for my asking price.
