Pulled veneer off with Velcro tape. Oh No! April 08, 2010, 03:43:53 pm Yahoo Message Number: 111665I was just relocating a clock I had placed on the wall of my coach and accidently pulled a very small piece of veneer off the wall. It is a 2001 Rear Kitchen with the darker colored veneer. The clock was attached using velcro. I was slowly pulling it off and...... Of course my wife came running when she heard me say oh s#*t. The remaining pieces were removed using her AC powered hair dryer to heat up the tape. (Now I really need to get that inverter installed for her ) Now my question. Anyone have a fix for the tiny 1/8 to 1/4 inch bare piece of wood I now have. I did manage to save a little of the veneer but it is not a perfect match. I was thinking maybe matching the stain. If so, anyone know what color I should use.I welcome all suggestions.TIA Ed

One of the uses noted on the packaging states that the product is for "accidents and small projects", so that seems to fit! ;-)Joan

If you can't borrow one from a grandchild or neighbor kid, treat yourself to a full-on 48 or 64-piece set. They are just plain fun to have around. Shoe polish also works well, and you can mix a couple of colors together. They also have wax-based "crayons" at the paint store in a variety of wood colors, specifically for touchups like this. More expensive than crayolas, but certainly do the trick.Sonsie

It is like a felt-tip marker. I use #230 (early american). Just keep it in the LD for any little nick or scratch that occurs. Works wonders. You'll forget you even did it. You can get it in any paint store, home building supply center, Ace Hardware, Wal-Mart paint section. and many other fine stores.Tom Johnston
