I need a brass colored "grommet" December 14, 2009, 09:17:21 pm Yahoo Message Number: 108529Here's another of my long-winded posts. I had a folding table stored quite nicely in the wardrobe. [Thanks to bumper] The DW wanted to add more drawers to the wardrobe, so the table had to find a new place to live. It fits fine on the back side of the dinette [MB] This is also the right side of the entry. It's out of the way and very convenient to move outside when it's needed.I need to drill two holes in the paneling. Shock cord will exit the holes to secure the table to back of the dinette. [weight of table will be on it's legs]The holes will only be exposed when the table is taken outside. AND more importantly when KoKo is sold some day. So I want it to look decent. I thought something like a brass colored "grommet" would dress it up and prevent the shock cord from eating into the paneling. I will use 3/8 shock cord, so the hole in the "grommet" could be up to say a half inch.I have thought about using threaded inserts. I can fit them into a block of wood and glue the assembly to the paneling on the inside of the dinette. It might work, but the head of the insert will not extend out of the paneling, only maybe flush.Any ideas on what might be better and sources for it?Cheers, Don
